Tokyo: Stocks close up for third straight session
[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks rose for a third straight session on Tuesday in cautious trade with investors largely on the sidelines ahead of earnings season and 10 days of holidays in Japan.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.19 per cent, or 41.84 points, to close at 22,259.74, while the broader Topix index climbed 0.27 per cent, or 4.35 points, to 1,622.97.
