[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed higher on Friday (Mar 18) as fears receded that Russia might default on its bonds.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.7 percent or 174.54 points to 26,827.43, while the broader Topix index added 0.5 per cent or 10.26 points to 1,909.27. AFP
