Tokyo: Stocks edge down ahead of BoJ, Fed meetings

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks ended a three-day winning streak on Monday as investors await developments from Bank of Japan and US Federal Reserve meetings this week.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 at the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which on Friday ended above 19,000 points for the first time in 15 years, edged down 0.04 per cent, or 8.19 points, to finish at 19,246.06.

The broader Topix index of all first section shares fell 0.14 per cent, or 2.12 points, to 1,558.21.
