[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks closed lower Monday (Apr 18) on rising tensions in Ukraine and concern over surging Covid-19 cases in China.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 1.08 per cent or 293.48 points to end at 26,799.71, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.86 per cent or 16.23 points to 1,880.08. AFP
