Tokyo: Stocks open flat as investors sidelined

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened flat Tuesday as investors watched out for developments following a suspected terror attack in the British city of Manchester that killed more than a dozen people.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.09 per cent, or 17.20 points, to 19,661.08 in the first few minutes of trading while the Topix index of all first-section shares was down 0.03 per cent, or 0.51 points, at 1,567.14.
