[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened flat on Wednesday following a negative lead from financial markets in the United States and Europe.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was off 0.25 points at 16,596.26 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares edged down 1.07 points to 1,297.40.
