Tokyo: Stocks open higher
[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday, taking a positive lead from European and US markets as they shrugged off an Italian referendum outcome that led to the resignation of the prime minister.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1.01 per cent, or 185.19 points, to 18,460.18 in the first few minutes of trade while the broader Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.99 per cent, or 14.52 points, at 1,481.48.
