[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday as the yen remained cheaper against the US dollar, reflecting rises in US Treasury yields on the latest brisk economic data.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 edged up 0.68 per cent, or 136.32 points, to 20,192.12 in early trading while the Topix index of all first-section issues rose 0.69 per cent, or 11.17 points, to 1,625.58.
