Tokyo: Stocks open higher

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday as fears of a US-China trade war receded and the yen stayed relatively lower against the US dollar.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1.18 per cent or 251.04 points to 21,570.59 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.87 per cent or 14.77 points at 1,720.90.
