Tokyo: Stocks open higher after fresh Dow record

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday after the Dow posted another record close in New York while investors awaited a key Congressional address by US President Donald Trump.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.65 per cent, or 124.72 points, to 19,232.19 in the first few minutes of trade while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.71 per cent, or 10.94 points, at 1,544.94.
