[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Wednesday with investor sentiment boosted by sharp gains on Wall Street following robust corporate earnings.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 1.03 per cent or 232.06 points to 22,781.30 in early trade while the broader Topix index was up 1.09 per cent or 18.45 points at 1,706.36.
