Tokyo: Stocks open higher after Wall Street bounce

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday as investors took heart from a slightly cheaper yen and a rebound in US shares.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.39 per cent or 84.43 points at 21,591.97 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 0.27 per cent or 4.40 points at 1,620.29.
