[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday, as investors shrugged off a suspected North Korean missile launch and weaker-than-expected Japanese GDP figures with all eyes on Britain's general election.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.32 per cent, or 64.72 points, to 20,049.34 in early trade, while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.34 points, or 5.47 points, to sit at 1,602.56.
