Tokyo: Stocks open higher with eyes on earnings

TOKYO stocks opened higher on Tuesday, extending US rallies, with investors gradually shifting focus to Japanese corporate earnings reports that are beginning to be released.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.45 per cent, or 121.19 points, at 27,096.19 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.49 per cent, or 9.25 points, at 1,896.44. AFP
