Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Federal Reserve optimism

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday, extending record-setting rallies on Wall Street over an expected Federal Reserve interest rate cut later this month.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.12 per cent or 25.04 points at 21,668.57 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.03 per cent or 0.52 points at 1,579.15.
