Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Friday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday, with investor sentiment propped up by a rebound on Wall Street.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.23 per cent, or 49.29 points, to 21,785.73 in early trade while the broader Topix index was up 0.19 per cent, or 3.31 points, at 1,749.48.
