Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Monday

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Monday as a weak yen lifted automakers and other exporters.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index gained 0.15 per cent, or 24.46 points, to 16,880.83 in the first few minutes while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.09 per cent, or 1.18 points, at 1,348.37.
