[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Monday on hopes for progress in US-China trade talks.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 1.55 per cent or 324.31 points at 21,224.94 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 1.41 per cent or 22.31 points at 1,599.60.
