[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday in cautious trade, with a dearth of strong market-moving events after the US market was closed for a holiday.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.71 per cent or 204.17 points at 29,064.25 in early trade, while the broader Topix index gained 0.52 per cent or 9.92 points to 1,932.90.
