Tokyo: Stocks open higher on US gains

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday after solid gains on Wall Street as investor sentiment improves ahead of a key inflation reading.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.82 per cent, or 226.24 points, to 27,806.11 at the open, while the broader Topix index added 0.56 per cent, or 11.00 points, to 1,963.22. AFP
