Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Thursday, helped by cheaper yen

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Thursday, partly supported by a cheaper yen against the dollar.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index advanced 0.40 per cent, or 88,54 points, to 22,020.75 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.32 per cent, or 5.46 points, at 1,707.34.
