Tokyo: Stocks open higher tracking gains in US

[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened higher on Wednesday, tracking gains on Wall Street with a weaker yen supporting the market, while Sony was set to rally after forecasting record annual profits.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index edged up 0.57 per cent, or 126.46 points, to 22,138.07 in early trade while the broader Topix index was up 0.54 per cent, or 9.47 points, at 1,775.43.
