[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened higher on Tuesday as the yen fell, brightening exporters' outlook for the coming months.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.40 per cent, or 68.94 points, to 17,303.36 in the first few minutes of trading while the Topix index of all first-section issues was up 0.37 per cent, or 5.12 points, to 1,372.73.
