Tokyo: Stocks open higher on Wednesday

    TOKYO stocks opened higher on Wednesday as investors took heart from Wall Street rallies fuelled by a drop in US Treasury yields and mostly solid corporate earnings.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.75 per cent, or 203.39 points, at 27,453.67 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was up 0.66 per cent, or 12.55 points, at 1,919.69. AFP
