[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Tuesday with energy shares slipping on lower oil prices as a firm yen weighed down carmakers.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.22 per cent, or 44.66 points, to 20,126.16 in the first few minutes of trade while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.20 per cent, or 3.26 points, at 1,606.71.
