Tokyo: Stocks open lower

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday tracking falls on Wall Street on worries over tensions between The US and North Korea, with a stronger yen also weighing on the market.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index slipped 0.27 per cent, or 53.99 points, to 19,942.02 in the first few minutes while the Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.20 per cent, or 3.30 points, at 1,632.02.
