Tokyo: Stocks open lower after Yellen speech

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks continued the previous day's slide in opening deals on Wednesday, despite strong gains on Wall Street as investors digested a dovish speech by Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 0.15 per cent, or 25.50 points, to 17,078.03 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares fell 0.32 per cent, or 4.42 points, to 1,373.18.
