Tokyo: Stocks open lower following losses on global markets
[TOKYO] Tokyo shares opened lower Tuesday, after global markets fell sharply over Deutsche Bank's woes and the looming first debate between US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei 225 index opened down 0.93 per cent, or 153.65 points, to 16,390.91.
The Topix index of all first-section shares was down 1.08 per cent, or 14.47 points, to 1,321.37.
