Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Friday

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Friday amid lingering worries over the new coronavirus's ramifications on the global and Japanese economy.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index lost 0.51 per cent or 122.01 points to 23,705.72 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 0.54 per cent or 9.23 points at 1,703.85.
