TOKYO stocks opened lower on Friday, extending losses on Wall Street after the US Federal Reserve’s hawkish comments on its monetary tightening plans. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 1.49 per cent, or 410.48 points, at 27,142.58 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 1.16 per cent, or 22.36 points, at 1,905.64. AFP
