TOKYO stocks opened lower on Monday with investors disheartened by falls on Wall Street, where participants shrugged off mostly solid bank earnings amid worries over bond yields and rising recession risks.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 1.03 per cent, or 278.86 points, at 26,811.90 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 0.73 per cent, or 13.90 points, at 1,884.29. AFP
