Tokyo: Stocks open lower on Friday

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Friday, tracking US falls on fears of a protracted conflict in Ukraine and after more data confirming the blistering pace of US inflation.

    The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.86 per cent or 221.59 points at 25,468.81 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 1.00 per cent or 18.23 points at 1,811.80. AFP
