[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday, extending falls on Wall Street as investors worried about inflation and signs of a slowdown in the global economy.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.50 per cent or 142.04 points at 28,088.57 in early trade, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.26 per cent or 5.16 points to 1,977.52.
