Tokyo: Stocks open lower on slowdown fears

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Tuesday, weighed down by fears over a slowdown in the global economy.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.55 per cent or 112.83 points to 20,246.87 in early trade while the broader Topix index was down 0.54 per cent or 8.24 points at 1,521.49.
