Tokyo: Stocks open lower as trade optimism fades

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday tracking falls on Wall Street, as optimism over US-China trade talks receded after recent comments from both sides.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.24 per cent or 52.58 points at 21,482.67 in early trade, while the broader Topix index was down 0.27 per cent or 4.17 points at 1,564.57.
