TOKYO stocks opened lower on Thursday, extending falls on Wall Street after the US Federal Reserve announced a widely expected rate hike, with focus shifting to the Japanese central bank’s meeting.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.87 per cent, or 237.33 points, at 27,075.80 in early trade, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.78 per cent, or 14.94 points, to 1,905.86. AFP
