Tokyo: Stocks open lower as virus worries linger

[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Monday due to worries over the global spread of the new coronavirus.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.81 per cent or 191.88 points at 23,495.71 in early trade, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.85 per cent or 14.46 points at 1,688.41.
