[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday following drops on Wall Street amid a flare-up in trade tensions between the United States and Europe.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.87 per cent or 189.28 points to 21,613.31 in early trade while the broader Topix index was down 1.01 per cent or 16.39 points at 1,602.37.
