[TOKYO] Tokyo stocks opened lower Friday (Dec 17) on profit-taking after a strong rally in the previous session as investors awaited the Bank of Japan's policy decision later in the day.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.71 per cent or 205.44 points at 28,860.88 in early trade, while the broader Topix index slipped 0.38 per cent or 7.75 points to 2,005.33.
