Tokyo: Stocks tumble as yen, oil prices weigh

    [TOKYO] Tokyo's benchmark index dropped more than two per cent on Tuesday to its lowest level in over a month as exporters were hit by a strengthening yen and energy firms sank with oil prices.

    The Nikkei 225 fell 2.42 per cent, or 390.45 points, to end at 15,732.82, its six-consecutive session in the red, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares plunged 2.64 per cent, or 34.34 points, to 1,268.37.
