Tokyo's Nikkei ends at highest this year after Opec deal

[TOKYO] Tokyo's benchmark stock index jumped to its best close this year on Thursday, as energy companies soared on an Opec deal to cut oil production and boost prices.
The Nikkei 225 was up 1.12 per cent, or 204.64 points, to finish at 18,513.12, while the broader Topix index of all first-section issues gained 0.94 per cent, or 13.84 points, to 1,483.27.
