[TOKYO] Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei index dropped more than 1.8 per cent on Monday, with pessimism over Japan-US trade negotiations and an expected tax hike weighing on the Japanese market.
The Nikkei 225 index fell 1.87 per cent or 423.36 points to close at 22,271.30, while the broader Topix index was down 1.59 per cent or 27.01 points at 1,675.44.
