Tokyo's Nikkei index rebounds over 3% after Wall Street rally

    [TOKYO] Tokyo stocks rebounded more than three percent in opening trade on Wednesday with investors relieved to see New York shares staging a rally after sharp drops.

    The benchmark Nikkei index, which fell nearly five per cent on Tuesday to suffer the worst loss since the November 2016 election of Donald Trump as US president, bounced back 3.13 per cent or 677.02 points to 22,287.26 in early trade.
