Turnover among lowest this year
But STI edged up 18.79 points, possibly on the back of Friday's Wall Street jump and weekend news of China's interest rate cut
GAINS in the three banks and Singtel nudged the Straits Times Index (STI) up 18.79 points to 3,470.80 on Monday, in one of the lowest one-day turnovers this year.
Altogether, 1.1 billion units worth worth S$801.7 million were traded.
Excluding warrants, the broad market recorded 221 rises versus 179 falls in a session described as quiet and unremarkable by most dealers.
