US: Stocks end mixed amid trade war fears
[NEW YORK] Wall Street stocks finished mostly higher on Friday as bargain hunting of technology shares offset worries of a trade war after President Donald Trump vowed tariffs on imported steel and aluminum and many other goods.
At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 24,534.52, down 0.3 per cent.
The broad-based S&P 500 added 0.5 per cent to end the week at 2,691.02, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index rose 1.0 per cent to 7,255.58.
