US: Wall St opens higher as Nvidia’s forecast calms AI demand fears
WALL Street’s main indexes opened higher on Thursday (Feb 27) as AI bellwether Nvidia’s upbeat forecast soothed concerns of cooling demand in the industry, though a jump in weekly jobless claims kept a check on gains.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 83.3 points, or 0.19 per cent, at the open to 43,516.44.
The S&P 500 rose 25.8 points, or 0.43 per cent, at the open to 5,981.88, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 137.1 points, or 0.72 per cent, to 19,212.363 at the opening bell. REUTERS
