US: Wall Street leaps at the open on Microsoft, Meta boost
[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes jumped at the open on Thursday, powered by shares of Meta and Microsoft, as their strong quarterly results pointed to a resilient outlook for the technology sector.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 248.7 points, or 0.61 per cent, at the open to 40,918.04.
The S&P 500 rose 56.1 points, or 1.01 per cent, at the open to 5,625.14, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 346.8 points, or 1.99 per cent, to 17,793.136 at the opening bell. REUTERS
