Wall Street subdued at open as investors await key inflation report
[NEW YORK] Wall Street’s main indexes had a subdued open on Friday (Dec 5) as investors avoided large bets and awaited a long-delayed key inflation report that could shape the Federal Reserve’s policy path.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 28.7 points, or 0.06 per cent, at the open to 47,879.6.
The S&P 500 rose 9.2 points, or 0.13 per cent, at the open to 6,866.32, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 62.6 points, or 0.27 per cent, to 23,567.77 at the opening bell. REUTERS
