CARLSBERG Singapore has added the leading Japanese beer, Asahi, to its portfolio with the acquisition of a 51 per cent stake in MayBev Pte Ltd.
"This partnership with MayBev is an important milestone in the development of Carlsberg Singapore as one of the foremost alcoholic drinks suppliers in the country," said John Botia, managing director, Carlsberg Singapore.
MayBev is the sole distributor of Asahi in Singapore. Its core business comprises the sales, marketing and distribution of a wide portfolio of international beverages, including Pravda and Heavy Water vodkas, Zonin wines, and various specialty Japanese soft drinks.
