China banks need to clear the decks: Templeton

SOME fund managers at Templeton still retain a wariness of Chinese banks despite their cheap valuations.

The worry is that the banks have grown their balance sheets too quickly and the loan portfolios will need more restructuring, especially given the exposure to the frothy Chinese property market.
